Scribbler's Highlight of the Week (Part I): DeAndre Jordan's Entry for NBA Dunk of the Year

For once, I planned to post a highlight this week that was completely unrelated to sports, unless they have an official league called the "NTA" as in the "National Twerking Association".  (I'm sure a lot of brothers would pay top dollar to attend a "game" like that.  Oh wait, they already do...it's called the strip club.)  Mrs. Scribbler and I were up watching some hilarious videos from Dormtainment.com, and I was like, "Yeah, I'm posting something from their site this week!"  However, it's unfair to them when the Los Angeles Clippers, a.k.a. the 2013 version of the 1980s "Showtime" L.A. Lakers, are playing the most exciting basketball that we've seen in a very long time.  I might have to do two highlights this week, but I doubt that the young bulls need any plugging from a largely unknown blogger like me.  (Heck, I might need help from y'all, so can y'all please throw some Twitter followers and Facebook friends my way?!?!)

Anyway, the clip above should be renamed "The Dunk Heard 'Round the World" as much as this monstrous throwdown by Clippers' center DeAndre Jordan blew up Twitter on Sunday.  Many pundits are already hailing it as the best dunk of the 2012-13 NBA season.  I'd have to see what dunks are in competition with it, but for the moment, this should win.  Now some people will try to take away from it because Jordan, who stands at 6'11", aerially assaulted Pistons' point guard Brandon Knight, who is listed as a good eight inches shorter.  I will say that it's unfair for people to give Knight the blues because he had to be the fill-in "center" for the lost-in-the-shuffle Greg Monroe.  However, a la another fantastic Chris Paul alley-oop, Jordan takes the ball in mid-air, dunks it with his right hand (mind you, he's a southpaw like me) and puts the more miniature Knight on his back without paying him for his services or offering him a cigarette afterwards.  Besides, any dunk that gets 6-7 of your teammates off the bench in awe when you have Blake Griffin on the same team--including Griffin himself--is worthy of making the cut.  These kind of clips from the Clips are bringing back the old NBA slogan: "I love this game."
